Why Weed Conflict Management Titles?
Dealing with conflict is a part of life. Students should have access to materials that contribute to their better understanding and negotiation of conflict situations. Titles should outline constructive methods for responding to effectively resolving disputes. Provide students with materials that support healthy discussion and sharing of feelings, offer tips for conflict management and dealing with emotions, and encourage awareness and empathy. Update the collection with these Heinemann-Raintree titles! |

Criteria for Weeding Conflict Management Titles
- Check the 302s and 303s.
- Check materials that have a copyright of more than 5 years.
- Titles should include relevant, real-world information on topics, such as: bullying, fighting, and school violence.
- The collection should include materials that provide assistance and guidance on coping with anger, handling stress, and dealing with emotions.
- Incorporate titles that provide content on additional resources and list contact information for assistance agencies.
- Weed materials that rarely circulate using the circulation statistics. However, be careful not to dispose of titles that contain valuable material. An item's circulation history is not always an accurate measure of the item's use. Students may use these titles to glean specific slices of information rather than as take-home reads.
- Titles should be free of gender and racial stereotypes.
- Soiled pages

- Broken spine
